Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Coaching focuses on empowering individuals to unlock their potential and achieve personal and professional growth. Coaches facilitate self-discovery, encourage goal-setting, and promote accountability. Unlike mentoring, where an experienced individual provides advice and guidance, coaching is non-directive. A coach helps you find your own solutions rather than offering their expertise. Consulting involves providing expert advice or solutions to problems, while coaching encourages clients to develop their own solutions. Therapy focuses on healing emotional or psychological issues from the past, whereas coaching is future-oriented and emphasizes actionable outcomes.
Coaching is ideal if you are looking to clarify your goals, overcome challenges, or enhance your personal and professional growth. It’s for individuals who are ready to take responsibility for their progress and are committed to self-improvement. Coaching is also valuable for teams and organizations aiming to improve collaboration, leadership, and innovation.
During a coaching session, we’ll explore your current situation, identify challenges, and work towards actionable goals. You’ll engage in self-reflection, receive support in identifying obstacles, and develop strategies to overcome them. As your coach, I’ll help you stay accountable, offering a balance of encouragement and challenge to push you toward your objectives.
The CBC program is a coaching framework built on seven key principles: Unconditional Responsibility, Essential Integrity, Ontological Humility, Authentic Communication, Constructive Negotiation, Impeccable Coordination, and Emotional Mastery. It
emphasizes personal responsibility, ethical decision-making, and sustainable success, both in personal and business contexts. At MAPs, our coaching services are rooted in the CBC philosophy.
Our Code of Ethics is based on CBC principles and my personal values. It ensures integrity, confidentiality, respect, and responsibility throughout the coaching relationship. We maintain professional boundaries, prioritize client confidentiality, and respect diversity. Our ethical standards aim to create a safe, supportive environment for your growth. You can review the full MAPs Code of Ethics on our website.
At MAPs, we offer two communication programs. The Communication Skills Program (CSP) focuses on foundational communication practices like deep listening, avoiding assumptions, and empathy. The Assertive Communication and Authenticity Program (ACAP) builds on this foundation, teaching skills like emotional mastery, assertiveness, and authentic self-expression. We recommend completing the CSP before starting ACAP to develop a solid base for success.
The MAPs eBook offers a comprehensive guide to personal and professional growth, covering topics such as leadership, communication, innovation, and life balance. It includes practical advice, real-life examples, and actionable insights for both individuals and organizations. The eBook is designed to inspire you to take the next step in your development journey and is a great starting point for understanding how MAPs can support your goals.
The coaching agreement outlines the terms of our professional relationship. It includes details on session duration, fees, responsibilities, confidentiality, and the cancellation policy. You will be responsible for attending sessions on time and following through on commitments made during coaching. I will provide a safe, supportive space for your
growth and hold you accountable to your goals. You can find the full details of the agreement on our website.
Sessions must be canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your session or miss it, the session will be considered completed. However, if canceled with sufficient notice, we can reschedule upon mutual agreement. More details on our cancellation and refund policies can be found in the Terms and Conditions.

After each coaching session, you’ll receive a personalized report summarizing our discussion, the goals we set during the session, and next steps or recommendations for your coaching journey. Depending on your goals, MAPs will indicate additional steps that may be beneficial for follow-up and accountability. You can decide how to continue with coaching and what pathways to take based on your progress and needs.
During the 15-minute free consultation, we’ll briefly discuss your goals, challenges, and what you hope to achieve with coaching. This session is designed to give you an introduction to the coaching process and to determine if MAPs is a good fit for your needs. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, and we’ll explore what type of coaching—
individual, group, or a combination—might best support your journey. It’s a chance for you to experience how coaching works before committing to a full program.
MAPs is unique because of its integration of CBC principles, focus on cultural competence, and emphasis on long-term, sustainable growth. Rather than just focusing on achieving immediate results, at MAPs we work to equip you with the skills and self-awareness needed for continued personal and professional success. Our coaching is tailored to the individual, and our group services provide collaborative environments for growth.
Individual coaching is one-on-one and focuses entirely on your unique goals and challenges. Group coaching, such as Mastermind Groups, involves collaborating with like-minded individuals to share insights and experiences. Group coaching is ideal for those who want peer support and accountability, while individual coaching offers more personalized attention.
To get the most out of your first session, it helps to reflect on your goals and the challenges you’re facing. Consider areas in which you’d like to grow and the outcomes you want to achieve. During the session, we’ll focus on clarifying your vision and setting a roadmap for future sessions. I recommend reading through the eBook for some initial guidance.
